-
ORMTA is the acronym for the Ontario Registered Music
Teachers' Association
-
It is the official body of independent music instructors in
Ontario with branches throughout the province
-
Its members also belong to the the
Canadian Federation of Music Teachers' Association. Instruction
is available to students of all ages in all levels of music on many
instruments as well as voice.
-
ORMTA aims to provide quality private music education at the
same time as playing an important role in music and education in the
community. The Ottawa Region Branch has been in existence for more
than sixty years and has some two hundred members from across eastern
Ontario from Van Kleek Hill to Deep River.
-
Call the branch phone line: 613-226-6768. This
phone line is serviced by volunteers who are local executive members.
If they are not available when you call, please leave a message - they will
be happy to respond to your questions.
-
Attend an ORMTA event and learn more about the association.
-
Look for ORMTA in the yellow pages. Consult
our
membership brochure also
available in music stores, community centres and public libraries. There
is probably a teacher close to your home.
-
Quality instruction provided by ORMTA
members is affordable and the rates are competitive. Every teacher
sets his/her own rates based on experience, level of education and years
of teaching. Points
to consider in selecting a teacher include their musical education, level
of experience, personality, studio atmosphere and type of program offered.
